The SideStream Plus breath-enhanced reusable chamber is designed to improve delivery of antibiotic medications when using Philips nebulisers. It is fitted with a silicone valve which responds to your breathing pattern. The valve opens on inspiration to boost medication delivery and closes on exhalation, preserving medication and reducing waste.
The SideStream Plus demonstrates excellent performance in particle size, treatment time and exhaled waste and is easy to use. The modern handle design and valved mouthpiece also help to provide a comfortable treatment.
Most health professionals recommend for when you are nebulising steroids and antibiotics you use a closed system. This is in order to prevent environmental contamination. In other words, sticky antibiotic settling all over your furniture or even worse, your nearest and dearest breathing in your excess medication. The SideStream Plus gives you the choice of either an exhaust hose which you can put out of a window, or a convenient filter holder which has a filter pad to catch the exhaled medication.
The SideStream Plus can be sterilised by boiling and may be used for up to twelve months before replacing.
